TreeStation designs, builds, and maintains gardens and landscapes for domestic and commercial clients across Greater Manchester. Our landscaping team is led by a former Arboretum Team Leader at Kew Gardens, bringing genuine horticultural expertise to every project -- from a small courtyard garden to a full commercial landscape scheme.
Garden Design
We design gardens to suit your site, your tastes, and your willingness to maintain them. Styles we have designed and built include:
- Mediterranean gardens -- drought-tolerant planting, gravel, and stone
- English cottage gardens -- informal planting, mixed borders, climbing plants
- Japanese-inspired gardens -- structural planting, water features, stone arrangements
- Low-maintenance gardens -- designed around your available time
Every design includes a planting plan with species selected for your soil type, aspect, and local climate, along with a realistic maintenance schedule so there are no surprises down the line.
Soft Landscaping
Soft landscaping covers everything that grows:
- Tree and shrub planting and pruning
- Hedge planting, reshaping, and ongoing maintenance
- Soil moving and soil amelioration -- improving poor or compacted ground
- Seeding and turfing
- Mulching with locally produced woodchip from our own yard
Hard Landscaping
We build the structural elements that frame your garden:
- Paths and driveways -- natural stone, block paving, gravel
- Patios and flagged areas
- Garden walls including dry stone walling
- Fencing -- close board, post and rail, picket, bespoke
Wooden Features
Because we process our own timber at our Manchester yard, we can supply sustainable, locally produced wooden features at a competitive price:
- Woodchip pathways
- Raised beds from railway sleepers or milled timber
- Benches and seating
- Trellis and screening
Garden Maintenance
We provide ongoing maintenance for gardens we have built and for existing gardens that need regular attention. Services include formative pruning of young trees and shrubs, seasonal hedge reshaping, mulching, and general upkeep to keep planting looking its best as it matures.
Hedgerow Surveys and Advice
We carry out hedgerow surveys for ecological and planning purposes, advise on grant funding for hedgerow planting and restoration, and provide guidance on conifer hedges under the High Hedges Legislation (Part 8, Anti-social Behaviour Act 2003).
Landscape Character Surveys
For larger projects or planning applications that require landscape assessment, we provide Landscape Character Surveys combining desk study, site walkover, and written report. These are used to inform development proposals and environmental impact assessments.
