Accreditations and Safety

Tree surgery and wood processing carry real risks. We manage those risks through training, accreditation, and procedures that are checked and audited by independent bodies. This page sets out exactly what standards we work to and why they matter to you.

Safety Management

Every job gets a Site Specific Risk Assessment and Method Statement before work begins. This is not paperwork for the sake of it -- it is how we keep our crews, your property and the public safe.

Our safety procedures comply with:

  • Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
  • Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
  • Forestry Commission AFAG safety guidance

Our yard operations follow documented procedures to minimise risks during timber processing, storage and loading.

Accreditations

ARB Approved Contractor

Awarded by the Arboricultural Association. Held since March 2014. This is the industry's quality mark for tree surgery companies. It requires regular inspection of our work, equipment and safety systems. Many local authorities and commercial clients require ARB Approved status. For domestic customers, it is the clearest sign that a tree surgeon meets professional standards.

TrustMark

Held since June 2014. TrustMark is the government-endorsed quality scheme for tradespeople. We are audited annually. If you are not satisfied with our work, TrustMark provides an independent dispute resolution service.

Woodsure Ready to Burn

Held since 2021. Our firewood is independently tested and certified to contain less than 20% moisture. Ready to Burn fuel lights faster, burns hotter and produces less smoke. Required for sale in smoke control areas.

BSL (Biomass Suppliers List)

Held since August 2014. Our woodchip fuel meets the sustainability criteria for the Renewable Heat Incentive. Independent verification shows it saves more than 60% greenhouse gas emissions compared to fossil fuel.

Living Wage Employer

Since 2015, every TreeStation employee earns at least the real Living Wage -- the rate independently calculated based on actual living costs, not the government minimum.

SafeContractor

Held since 2008. Health and safety pre-qualification for contractor procurement.

CHAS

Held since 2014. Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme accreditation.
