What it feels like

No apps. No screens to stare at. OpenRain is designed around the way you naturally communicate — by speaking.

A typical interaction

From tap to response, the whole thing takes a few seconds.

1

Tap to wake

Touch the screen on your wrist. The device wakes up and starts listening immediately. A subtle chirp confirms it's ready.

2

Speak naturally

Say what you need. Address a specific agent by name — "Ask the assistant about my afternoon" — or just speak and let the butler figure out who should help.

3

Processing happens silently

Your audio is transcribed on your own server. The right agent receives the text, thinks about it, and composes a response. All on your hardware, all encrypted.

4

Hear the response

The agent speaks back through your device in its own distinctive voice. If there are links, reports, or longer content, you get a message with a link to OpenRain's web interface where it's all waiting for you.

5

Device sleeps

A closing chirp signals the conversation is done. The device returns to sleep, saving battery until you need it again. No idle listening.

Choosing an agent

Two ways to reach the right specialist. Or just let the butler decide.

Voice addressing

Say the agent's name in your request and the system routes automatically. No special syntax. Just speak naturally and include the name.

"Ask the assistant about tomorrow's meetings"

Touchscreen picker

On devices with a screen, swipe left or right to select an agent before speaking. The display shows who you're about to talk to.

Swipe → Select "The Enquirer" → Tap → Speak

Let the butler decide

Don't name an agent? The butler handles it. If the question needs a specialist, the butler routes transparently and tells you who's answering.

"I'll check with the assistant on that — one moment."

Every tap is fresh

There are no sticky sessions. Each interaction stands alone. Name an agent, use the picker, or let the butler choose — it resets every time you tap.

Tap → speak → hear → done. Next tap starts fresh.

How routing works

Every request flows through a single point of contact.

Daily rhythms

OpenRain fits into the flow of your day, not the other way around.

Morning

Morning briefing

Your first interaction of the day triggers a spoken summary. Today's schedule, pending reminders, anything that needs your attention. Start the day informed without looking at a screen.

Throughout

Quick interactions

Set reminders, ask questions, kick off research — all from your wrist. Confirmations are spoken back. Longer follow-ups arrive via Signal on your phone.

Reminders

Timely nudges

Reminders arrive as private messages throughout the day. OpenRain never interrupts your wearable — it's tap-only. Your phone handles all notifications.

Evening

Evening wind-down

End-of-day recap: what you accomplished, what's on for tomorrow, anything you might have missed. A clean handoff from today to tomorrow.

Reminders that work

Set them by voice, get confirmed instantly, receive them wherever you are.

You say
"Remind me to call the dentist at 3pm"
Agent confirms
"I've set a reminder for 3pm to call the dentist. Is that right?"
At 3pm — via Signal
"Reminder: Call the dentist"

Spoken confirmations make sure the agent heard you correctly. Reminders arrive as private messages on your phone — your wearable never buzzes or interrupts.

Your devices

Different form factors, same experience. Pick the one that suits the moment.

Wrist Watch

ESP32-C6

Touchscreen on your wrist. Tap to talk, swipe to pick an agent. Built-in mic and speaker. The primary wearable.

Phone App

Coming Later

For when you don't have a wearable handy. Same agents, same experience, same privacy — from your phone.

Audio cues

Subtle sound design inspired by Star Trek TNG. You always know what state the device is in.

Ready chirp

A short communicator chirp when you tap. The device is listening and ready for your voice.

Thinking

A subtle tone while your request is being processed. You know it's working without staring at a screen.

Channel closed

The classic double-chirp when the agent finishes speaking. The interaction is complete and the device returns to sleep.
